Job Description / Information

The Job's Mission

The divisional HR Director provides independent and high-level strategic HR partnership to 3 divisions with approximately 500 employees in 16 countries with a turnover of approximately 370 million USD. This role reports directly into the VP HR Medsurg Group and is part of the global HR Leadership team.

Primary focus will be on partnering with the EU VPGM to create and develop a highly engaged, high performance team that consistently deliver results.Translate divisional strategy into EU HR Strategy and by doing so assisting the division to achieve is ambition for growth in Europe. Deliver HR partnership to the business through: talent management, succession planning and individual development planning activities, change management, performance management, employee relations, and orchestration of other HR services. Partner with EU HR shared services & local HR to provide seamless, effective full-service HR support to clients.

Key Activities & Accountabilities:

Setting a clear HR strategy

  • Formulate HR strategy and objectives based on Division Strategy and mission for Stryker ensure executing through partnering with local HR, shared services and COEs.

  • Define in partnership with the VP/GMs the right organizational structure to drive the growth expectations of the division.

  • Provide HR Partnership to business leaders (VP/GMs).

  • Share responsibility with business leaders to build great leadership capabilities and achieve business results.

Build a strong talent bench

  • Partner with the leader & talent acquisition team on all recruitment activity; always ensuring a high talent mind-set is maintained and effective talent bench is in place for all BULs/EU focused commercial roles.

  • Ensure that new employees are effectively on-boarded and terminated employees are appropriately exited.

  • Manage talent review, support and guide the creation of Individual development plans, succession planning, all the time developing the team’s talent bench.

Drive a high performance culture

  • Drive performance management as part of the organisational culture. Ensure strong JDs, performance objectives, bonus objectives and sales incentive plans are in place.

  • Provide guidance on effective reward and recognition initiatives; with a focus on rewarding top performers.

  • Ensure an effective performance management process is in place. Support the leader in addressing any performance concerns promptly, assisting in the development of PIPs and appropriate management of consistent under performers.

  • Oversee and lead employee litigation/dispute resolution for assigned business group

  • Assist the leader in building a highly engaged team.

Oversee, manage and advise on Core HR processes

  • Participate on HR leadership teams.

  • Provide HR direction; advising clients on employment practices, corporate and divisional policies/procedures.

  • Align C&B with division priorities and provide input on guidelines.

  • Manage CAR budget for respected Business Units and execute CAR process for BUL’s/EU focused commercial talent.

  • Ensure employment documentation is appropriately administered.

  • Recommend and implement changes to HR processes that increase customer satisfaction and HR efficiency/effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience; Prefer Master's Degree in HR specialty or Business.

  • Fluency in English

  • Other European languages are desirable

Experience As above, indicate the length and type of experience required to perform this job satisfactorily.

  • Minimum of 8+ years experience as a successful HR generalist supporting multiple business groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with high level business leaders in multiple functional areas, including sales

  • Proven track record in the provision of excellent strategic and tactical HR support

  • Ability to operate in a complex environment, leveraging internal and external partners to meet the HR needs of the client base

  • Proven ability to manage complex HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, compensation administration (including sales incentive plans) and benefits administration

  • Demonstrated experience in organization design/restructuring and change management

  • Ability to build relationships that help achieve results and influence employees, managers and leaders at every level of the organization

  • Possess excellent communication, training and facilitation skills
