We are looking for a seasoned Marketing Communications specialist to join the Central Marketing Organization (CMO).
The Central Marketing Organization (CMO) is the center of Modern Marketing excellence. The CMO brings our modern marketing vision to life, providing leadership and accountability to drive demand generation and create fans through a connected sales and marketing experience. The CMO provides Integrated Marketing and deep discipline expertise in Experiential Marketing, Social Marketing, and Analytics, working in partnership with the respective product and segment teams. The CMO supports all segments (commercial & consumer), products, and cross-product solution areas and maximizes the use of global content, focusing marketing investments in alignment with customer buying scenarios, and leveraging Global Demand Centers (GDC) and Global Engagement Programs (GEPs).
The Marketing Communications role will contribute to execution of the all-up Area Marketing Plan in partnership with marketing discipline experts, including Experiential Marketing, Social Marketing, Analytics and, to deliver impactful, world class through-the-line integrated marketing. The Marketing Communications Manager will help to land Microsoft’s global marketing initiatives aligned to our Global Demand Center model with local relevancy. You will need to understand each of the global engagement programs aligned to the portfolio they support including the global content strategy and centralized demand generation plans to align and connect local marketing efforts, including demand gen across paid, earned and owned channels to these global programs. The Marketing Communications Manager needs to be passionate about delivering a compelling multi-channel customer experience. You must be data-driven and able to extract insights from standard reports to continuously improve and optimize local performance. You are excited about modern marketing capabilities like marketing automation and unlocking new opportunities when data and technology converge.
As part of the CMO team, the Marcom GTM embraces the company’s Marketing principles, is a local Microsoft Brand Steward, and drives ongoing improvements in maximizing local marketing spend and driving marketing efficiency, marketing impact, and scale. The role may have Program Management or Localization Reviewer responsibility to support the overall local marketing programs.
The Impact You’ll Be Making
Understands overall program and content strategy, and works across local stakeholders (Integrated Marketing, Experiential, Social, Analytics, and Business Groups) to help land global engagement program content and demand gen execution across the Area. (20% of time)
Aligns with CMO Integrated Marketing and Business Groups on all content (Global Engagement Program (GEP) & Non-GEP) requirements to forecast workflow and anticipate peak times. (10% of time)
Establishes ongoing cadence with key partners and leverages standard reporting dashboards to continually improve accuracy, streamline processes, and optimize local performance. (10% of time)
Program Management: Manages Microsoft Service Center submissions to connect local activity to Global Engagement Program (GEPs). Partners closely with Analytic Leads on reporting, and Integrated Marketing and Business Groups to connect locally-sourced leads (e.g., events leads) and Marketo data entry. (60% of time)
Localization Reviewer: Reviews corporate-localized content for language accuracy. Coordinates content reviews and approvals with local stakeholders (including Integrated Marketing, Legal (LCA) & Privacy) to maximize local relevancy. (60% of time)
Who We Are Looking For
5+ years of proven digital marketing communications experience, preferably in technology marketing, with strong marketing operations background. Experience working at a large global multinational a plus.
Innate ability to navigate through a complex matrix organization and lead process changes. Change management leadership to guide others to plan, execute, and communicate effectively in midst of change. Thrives in a fast-paced connected sales and marketing environment.
Must be inspired by Marketing Communications execution particularly social marketing, embrace Marketing Automation concepts, and be obsessed with delivering a compelling customer experience through relevant, connected customer engagement. - - Marketing Shared services and digital agency experience a plus.
Strong executive maturity, presence, and track record of marketing impact and influence.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills; proven cross-group collaboration and enduring partnerships.
Strong analytical capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) required. MBA degree preferred but not required.
