Business Director Asset Management

Today, large generating plants and passive components still dominate the power system. That time will soon be over. The entire energy landscape is in transition. The rate at which it will continue do so, and what that means, creates a large source of uncertainty for many of our customers.

Our in-depth market and technical capabilities and experience provide us the unique position and possibility to provide insight to our clients.

We position ourselves in the market and engage with our customers based on their strategic challenges.

We have identified five major customer’s challenges:

Increase of Power Transmission,

Increase in Renewables,

Digital Transformation,

Decentralization, and

Optimizing Electricity Networks & Aging Assets

For each challenge a Business Director will be responsible to position DNV GL as thought leader in the market, and to ensure we have the tools and capabilities to provide our clients with the services that add value.

Within the area of 'Optimizing Electricity Networks & Aging Assets’ we help our customers achieve sustainable, world-class asset management processes and performance by offering services like asset management process review & optimization, asset management decision making support, asset condition & remaining life assessment, and power failure investigations.

Our customers are, but not limited to, electrical asset owners, or service providers of high and medium voltage electrics.

In the role of Business Director for 'Optimizing Electricity Networks & Aging Assets':

  • You will represent our Energy Advisory Benelux organization (more than 200 professionals) in the market. Within the field of asset management, we hold a leading position outside and within DNV GL worldwide, based on our expertise and experience

  • You will also be part of our Sales Force, a group of about 30 enthusiastic consultants focused on improving our sales results

Your tasks and responsibilities:

As a Business Director, you are responsible for positioning DNV GL at our customers, primarily in the Benelux market, where you will engage with them on a strategic level. It is your responsibility to increase the visibility of DNV GL in the market and extend our c-level relations. You are the go-to person when it comes to asset management. You make an impact!

Next to that, you will:

  • Be responsible for the service portfolio management in your area of expertise

  • Pro-actively develop and take ownership of commercial success of the challenge

  • Act as team member, manager or sponsor in strategic projects

  • Actively monitor and anticipate on market developments

  • Be speaker at conferences, write articles, and be highly active on social media, etc.

What we are asking:

We’re looking for a seasoned business director who is well-known within the energy market or has the aspirations to become this.

You understand the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.

In addition:

  • You have an academic technical degree,

  • You have experience in Energy Transition, preferably as a (business) consultant

  • You have a strong and relevant professional network

  • You have extensive experience in business development

  • You are willing to travel abroad occasionally

  • Your Dutch and English language skills should be strong, verbal and in writing

  • You actively contribute to the success of our team and you collaborate to create results
