Fluor Consultants BV is focused on developing long term relationships with customers in revamping, debottlenecking and expanding the production capacity of their existing facilities in the Process Industry in the South West of the Netherlands. The Bergen op Zoom and Rotterdam offices provide the full project execution services: from conceptual engineering through commissioning and construction support.
In these projects, Electrical Engineers take overall responsibility for the electrical functionality for projects in the oil, gas and (petro-) chemical industry.
The Electrical Engineer works within a task force for the realization of multi-discipline projects in close cooperation with vendors and clients to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
The Electrical & Instrumentation and Control system group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on electrical engineering and design, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for a successful electrical engineer. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with others technical disciplines in our task force is essential.
The successful candidate must be able to:
Perform engineering in all project phases e.g. Feasibility studies, conceptual design, front-end design, detail engineering and design and plant commissioning.
Execute the engineering to properly size, calculate, specify, purchase, design and install a complete and operating electrical system that meets the Client requirements for :
Installations in all voltage levels e.g. : MV, HV, LV
Revamp type of projects as well for ‘small’ grass-root type of projects.
E.g.: Feeder panels, MCC’s, Substations, Transformers, Motors, Power Cables, Lightning systems, Grounding systems
The electrical part of mechanical equipment specifications
Write a contractors scope of work and oversee the development of detailed design drawings including one line diagrams, plans, details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings
Follow-up the purchased equipment including Factory Acceptance Tests and coordinate field implementation including Site Acceptance Test
Understand and have practical knowledge/experience with field installations and available electrical components
Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices
Coordinate the communication between the project team, the engineering and design team members, client and vendors to assure quality of work, and that consistent technical content drawing/design packages are maintained throughout a project
Develop and maintain progress, schedule and staffing planning including regular reporting
Prepare/maintain/review schedules, develop/monitor/review estimates and manpower forecasts for electrical activities and distribute and assign work to other electrical engineers and designers
Supervise and act as mentor for a group of junior and intermediate level electrical engineers and the development of future talent through coaching and training
