For our Sales Effectiveness team we are looking for a new

Analytical Consultant

The Sales Effectiveness team is focused on helping manufacturers and retailers to understand the levers that influence consumer purchase decisions, and via consultancy the Sales Effectiveness team gives guidance to our clients how to optimize their strategy and tactics to obtain better results. If you like consultancy, to get in contact with clients and uncover their business needs, and can be creative in finding the right solutions to answer these business questions, the Sales Effectiveness department will bring you an exciting and fun environment to work in, and the opportunity to make a big impact to our clients’ business.

The Analytical Consultant will have a leading role to present and advise clients. He/She will fulfill a managing role on projects and execute the studies. Some examples of areas where the Sales Effectiveness team is focused on are:

  • Understanding the impact that price has on volume sales from an absolute and relative (i.e. versus competition) perspective. This helps clients to set the right price and to optimize margins or volume/value sales accordingly via our simulation software

  • What should be my optimal promotional strategy? Do I need to give deep discounts or is creating awareness (i.e. small discount) just as effective? How much promotional support should I give to get a higher uplift in sales? Which retailers should I prioritize for promotions and are there differences in the tactics I should apply?

  • How do I optimize my portfolio and the shelf? Which products are most incremental (i.e. help drive growth) and how do I display these in store? Are there products that I could exchange because they highly cannibalize on sales from other products in my portfolio?

  • Solutions to track and support client’s sales teams by reducing time spend in store and allowing them to track instore KPI’s like planogram compliance, share of shelf, out of stock, availability and other relevant KPI’s.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use analytical skills to analyze sales effectiveness studies and translate them into relevant advice to the client;

  • Deliver presentations which provide insights and recommendations into clients‘ strategies;

  • Effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, with the help of the technical team (analysts);

  • Cooperate with Sales team to design specifications, timelines and deliverables for client proposals

  • Work closely with our Client and Retail Service team on identifying our clients’ business questions;

  • Opportunity to support our clients by discussing their key business questions and providing consultancy and solutions that help answer these questions;

  • Develop a good business relation with current and new clients on a senior management level.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • You have a bachelor or university degree (Engineering, Economy, Marketing)

  • Minimum 3 years market research/consultancy and/or industry experience;

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data in a challenging and insightful manner (highly numerate and accurate);

  • Good understanding of FMCG industry and trends;

  • Good analytical skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills;

  • Problem solving and solutions oriented;

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office tools;

  • Good organizational and time management skills;

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
