Finance, Planning & Analysis Intern

OUR GLOBAL OPERATIONS ORGANIZATION

Nielsen Global Operations is the core of Nielsens business. Through our 25 thousand associates worldwide, we ensure the timely and delivery of all our client solutions with the highest quality and integrity standards in an agile and transparent way.

OUR AMSTERDAM BASE GLOBAL FINANCE TEAM

Amsterdam houses a large segment of our global finance team. The head of finance for Nielsen Operations is located here together with an energized team of associates providing critical analytical support to several of our global business segments.

OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We offer a 6 months internship to dynamic furture leaders who aspire to persue an international career in Finance. During these 6 months, you will get exposure to our senior finance leadership, interact with colleagues worldwide and get an opportunity to test your analytical skills while supporting certain very critical finance processes.

Note: All candidates who successfully complete the internship are eligible to apply for our prestigious European Financial Leadership Program that opens further doors for exciting career opportunities within Nielsen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer an internship which will consist of the following responsibilities:

  • Participating in our annual comprehensisve budgeting and business planning processess.

  • Participating in the weekly forecasting process for our $1.5 billion global cost.

  • Generating, analysing and publishing critical financial and business reports.

  • Supporting recurring financial closes through continued analytics and performance of validation checks.

  • Supporting the maintainance of our global financial reporting systems and structure.

  • Performing several adhoc tasks including:

  • Variance analysis

  • Corporate Financial reviews

  • Adhoc projects

  • Day to day management of the internship programs including:

  • Maintaining contacts with relevant universities

  • Keeping track of key recruitment events and job fairs

  • Screening, preselection and interviewing relevant candidates

  • Onboarding and training of new interns

  • Driving implementation of all FP&A policies and procedures

SPECIAL PROJECT

In addition to the job responsibility, you will be encouraged to create and manage a special project that has a direct benefit to our business and is also closely linked with your interest as well as your academic goals. We will assign an appropriate business manager to support the successful completion of this project.

  • Master/Bachelor student -preferably in the last year with emphasis on Finance/Accounting, Economics

  • Excellent command over spoken and written English

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • The candidate needs to be a student throughout the whole duration of the internship

  • The candidate needs to have a valid visa to work and life in the Netherlands *LI-BA
