Job Description Summary
A Project Manager (PM) leads the cross-functional Team and activities in installing new BD Kiestra systems at customer site. The PM is typically responsible for leading all aspects of the project from the start of the Impact /Case Study Phase through successful completion of the Handover to Lifecycle Management Phase, but may also participate in the Sales Phase of a project. The overall guiding principle is the BD Kiestra UmbrellA Methodology of project implementation. The PM takes the project through project closeout, including the transition of the system into normal business operations or Life Cycle Management processes. In addition to the “How”, a Project Manager is measured on their ability to lead the team in achieving cost, schedule, functionality, stability and performance goals of the project. A project lead by Project Manager can have varying degrees of complexity, but typically includes one or more aspects of hardware, software, and/or network as part of its scope
The Project Manager leads and directs the cross-functional activities and outcomes of a project including:
Aligning and managing all cross-functional activities to deliver the product on time and on budget per contract while meeting agreed upon technical, operational, business and customer requirements.
Leading successful project reviews, Escalating as appropriate risks/ issues/concerns of the team
Ensuring quality, reliability, stability of the system including acceptability of product by intended customers
Completing accurate and timely reporting , e.g. dashboard report and updates business databases
Realization of complex customer projects in such a way that customer’s expectations are fulfilled within budget and deliverables of the project and customers are satisfied.
Identifies and approaches key contacts.
Has established relationships with key customers and stakeholders who can help to influence the carry out of the project and/or removing blocks.
Demonstrates a basic understanding of financial principles and business fundamentals relevant to the health care environment
Is responsive to customers’ or stakeholders’ priorities and situation; makes efforts to quickly address their questions and concerns.
Corrects problems promptly and undefensively.
Adapts communication style to meet customers’ and stakeholders’ needs/interests (e.g., pricing vs. efficacy).
Anticipates areas where support or influence will be required, and takes steps to involve key BD stakeholders in the process when required.
Understands the “politics” within one’s own and other organizations.
Takes time to become familiar with the priorities and values of many stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Contributing to the continuous improvement in DS's ability to execute programs and projects from initiation through launch
Take care of the road map including planning, budget and customer specific arrangements.
Documentation of the road map into a Project Plan/Technical Design Study.
Consultancy to the customer regarding Lab Information Systems / IT Infrastructure and Utilities (building interior, power connection, air, etc.).
Conducting technical and organizational programs implementation at clients using various methods (LEAN, change management, etc.).
Managing the project, making appointments and coordinating and controlling the activities
Arrange the delivery of project results (products, services).
Monitoring the progress of the project in terms of time, quality, money, information and organization
Ensure communication in and around the project.(To CBLs, local team, BD Kiestra and customer)
Preparation of (final) report.
Contribute to the further professionalism of the Projects Department including through the elaboration and (co) implementing new ideas, (year) plans, optimizations, etc.
Due to the nature of this function is not an 8 to 5 weekday job.
Able to travel up to 75% on a regular basis within EMA and Europe.
English is a must
