Lead the plan, preparation, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirement to meet customer service and inventory targets.
Manages and develops work processes that integrate customer delivery requirements into manufacturing plans.
Coordinates, Plans, prepares, issues, and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials, timed to meet production requirement.
Oversees and supports Warehouse operations.
Identifies raw material and component requirements for production. Deliver process improvement and cost savings within the PP&L organization. Coach the planning and purchasing team in the daily activities and the process improvement projects. Act as the Materials Manager’s Deputy in his absence.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Meets or exceeds departmental KPI’s (e.g. OTIF, Backorder, ATS).
Manages all raw material and finished goods planning processes, tools and systems ensuring policies, inventory targets and safety stock levels are being met, in order to deliver products according to targets and avoid materials shortages.
Lead MPS (Master production Plan) execution and control.
Act as a back/ up for planning and purchasing personnel if required.
Participates, and lead if necessary, the Supply S&OP meetings and daily operations meetings.
Work in close collaboration with the Plan and Distribution group in Belgium to understand market trends and distribution challenges in order to adapt production accordingly.
Look for opportunities and help delivering lead time reduction, process and cost improvements on an annual basis.
Works with Quality, Operations, Finance, LCM and Engineering as required maintaining compliance with company policies in regards to all Quality, safety and environmental issues.
Take ownership for PP&L team in Leiden for various key topics such as NC, Management Review Meetings, supply S&OP, etc.
Oversees and coach purchasing on the CS&OP and engage on supply base monitoring.
Lead projects related to Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse as SME as required. Also support cross functional projects related to site and company goals.
Lead and support Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse compliance systems (NC, CAPAs, ETQ, etc) to meet timelines and improvements.
Coach the planning and purchasing team on the day to day activities.
Leads analysis of product demand, sales patterns, forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data.
Anticipates customer service issues due to constraints on production or raw material supply and lead mitigation plans.
Ensure optimum mix of codes and quantities are scheduled within available capacity on a daily basis.
Ensures systems data integrity and accuracy of signals.
Oversight and support Warehouse operations, related to compliance, safety, daily operations, cycle counting, material flows (receiving, replenish, picking and FG Shipments) to achieve quality, cost, inventory and safety targets at warehouse.
Supports as SME for Planning, Purchasing and Warehousing on internal and external audits and follow current compliance regulations and standards.
Drive in collaboration with Sourcing cost improvement and inventory optimization projects from the source side.
Drives Lean / Six Sigma Improvement Kaizens or Opportunities.
If applicable facilitate and execute the records management program
Supports new product launches by leading supply chain readiness in collaboration with key functional areas.
Complete all compliance tasks (internal audit observations, non- conformances, CAPAs, etc) assigned in time and form.
Lead meetings discussing production schedules, capacity constraints or new product introductions as needed.
Lead S&OP and MPS processes and improvements.
Support capacity models and strategy capacity planning for the site
Support Annual Budget process for Materials Management (Planning , purchasing and warehouse ).
Actively coach and develop planning and purchasing team members.
Required education / experience:
Bachelor or University degree in Business Management, Logistics or other related field.
Min. 3 years of working experience in a comparable position.
Experience in a similar environment with a pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device company is preferred.
JD Edwards, EXCEL, Data Mining report skills, Power point, Access, and other computer skills as required
Understanding of FIFO/FEFO, ABC, ERP, MRP, MPS, S&OP.
Experience within Manufacturing, Lean, 6S, PE methodology are preferred.
PE and Planning certifications like APICS is a plus.
Working knowledge of financial processes is preferable
Able to communicate and writing skills in English

The employee is occasionallyexposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee performs routine office and operations demands includingcomputer operation. Routine office and operations including computer usage are required. For the position, some travel is required.
