Scientist (Analytical Assays group)

Department:

The Analytical Assays group is part of the Analytical Development (AD) group and is responsible for developing analytical methods that are employed for the analysis and biophysical characterization of virus based vaccines. Product analysis includes tests for quantity, potency, purity, and identity, but also detailed structural characterization of vaccines. The Analytical Development group, which is part of the pharmaceutical and analytical department, has a pivotal role between the regulatory authorities, quality unit, and process development. In addition, the AD department supports other departments (formulation, Upstream and Downstream processing development) by routine sample analysis.

Job description:

We are looking for a motivated scientist who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team. Your main responsibilities will be to lead the development and validation of analytical methods used for release and physicochemical characterization of clinical trial material, as well as providing extensive theoretical and hands on expertise in developing analytical methods suitable for process development and stability assessment. Connecting with experts and effectively leveraging knowledge of others will be critical to meeting project and budget expectations. In addition, with your expertise you will provide analytical input into vaccine projects, drive continuous improvements, as well as train and supervise junior members of the team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience

  • Experience in late stage clinical and commercial analytical method validation

  • Theoretical and hands on experience (3-5 years) as a specialist in analytical method development

  • Experience in techniques such as LC, CE, FFF-MALS, DLS, and AUC

  • Understanding of analytical quality by design

  • Experience working under GMP
