For our site in Leiden (NL) we are currently looking for a Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Team Leader.
The Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) Team leader will support and co-ordinate activities related to the planning and procurement of raw materials, consumables and components, converting the output of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the Detailed Schedule (DS) into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed; communicating the plan to the different suppliers within the agreed lead times. The team optimizes the flow of materials, while considering the plants warehouse capacity and inventory targets in order to eliminate potential disruptions in the storage, minimize both storage costs and potential SLOB at site level rolling up to API Large Molecule Platform Level.
Co-Ordinate the development, maintenance, communication and publication of the Materials Requirements Plans (MRP) to ensure that patient / customer requirements are met. Maintain Raw Materials, Consumables and Components inventories within target, while minimizing excess, obsolete and expired materials (Inventory Destruction Avoidance(IDA)). Contribute to the global balancing of Materials, Consumables and Components within Global Planning, ensuring efficient and effective procurement & inventory practices and optimizing the balance between quality, service, reliability and cost. Ensure that all material delivery schedules are communicated to the suppliers on time in order to meet plan requirements.
Liaises with the suppliers to clarify potential plan constraints and interfaces between supplier and the key internal stakeholders to ensure issue resolution.
Partner with Global Procurement to drive Supplier performance improvement including quality and on-time delivery (OTD) in line with MPS at Platform level.
Co-ordinate required communication into the Supply Review Meetings (SRM) and Short Term Exception Management (STEM) processes at both Site and Platform Level.
Interfaces with Supplier Quality (ESIQ), Site Quality and Warehouse staff regarding rejected / defective materials, making the necessary physical arrangements with the supplier to ensure a prompt return of goods or disposal.
Co-ordinates potential deviations to the plan assessing with the suppliers the feasibility of the changes, rapidly highlighting to the affected internal stakeholders if the changes are not possible.
Liaises with warehouse staff to understand and adhere to space constraints, managing inventory levels within agreed targets.
Support the RCCP/ S&OP processes for material and component suppliers.
Effectively partner with all internal and external business partners.
Co-Ordinates and encourages innovation and transformational thinking focusing on the continuous improvements of the processes supported.
Co-Ordinates Material and Component Phase in and Phase Out processes.
Connect and collaborate with Supply Planning to ensure seamless flow of information and ensure a fully integrated approach to delivering key metrics – Customer Service, Inventory & Destruction avoidance (IDA) and Cost.
Coach and guide direct reports to mine data from appropriate systems and develop capabilities to carry out complex analysis for ad-hoc business requests.
Develop and project-manage regional and global programs to deliver continuous improvement in KPI’s.
Develop, coach and guide team of planners in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals, advances succession planning by holding career conversations with staff.
Provide clear leadership for direct reports.
Bachelor Degree in a Supply Chain Management or other related Business discipline is essential.
Master Degree is preferred
Supply Chain Certification is preferred e.g. APICS.
Lean Certification is desirable.
A minimum of 5 years relevant Supply Chain Management experience (Planning, Logistics or Manufacturing) is required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Leadership role (People Management/Project Management).
Experience in Planning/Purchasing in a multi-national environment.
Experience in the use of SAP would be beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills and capabilities:
Possess clear ambition and capability to progress to leadership roles of added responsibility within Global Planning and Janssen Supply chain.
Ability to develop, coach and lead a team of direct reports in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals.
Ability to build strong collaborative teams and relationships both at site level and platform level when required.
Ability to communicate clearly, making the complex clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms. Ability to translate complex situations into simple working solutions.
The ability to influence to Manager and Director Level within the organization and in a matrix environment.
Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects.
Working knowledge of financial processes.
Possess a full understanding of the end-to-end Supply chain and adopt a Global mindset and patient impact in key business decisions making situations.
Strong organization skills and an aptitude for planning with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficient user of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Location of Role: Leiden – Netherlands
Language Requirements: English essential, Dutch
Travel Requirements: Up to 15% per annum.
