What you’ll be doing… *LI-CW1

At Tableau Software sales consultants get to work with Business Intelligence software that they can use on their own machines. They have the power to quickly prototype solutions that amaze customers in their elegance, beauty and value…again, on their own machines. As the product experts of Tableau Software, they have the knowledge and confidence to work with customers who are making new discoveries about their business on a daily basis while evaluating Tableau. Through participation in the development of delivery of customer training, sales consultants are expected to help us ensure that our customers have the skills and knowledge to use our products because when they do they always buy more. This job is for the sales consultant who wants to work hard work with a lot of customers, consistently hit their number and do whatever it takes to delight customers.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include…

  • Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support

  • Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products

  • Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation and selection process

  • Drive all aspects of successful Proof of Concepts from requirements and design to training and delivery

  • Communicate daily with sales staff regarding sales activities and strategies

  • Deliver web-based training sessions for customers and prospects

  • Provide onsite customer training and professional services

  • Educate and train the sales force in the features and use of Tableau products

  • Provide proactive support to customers and prospects

  • Be the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development

  • Backup the technical support staff as needed

  • Other related duties as assigned

Who you are…

  • Experienced. 5 or more years in Sales Engineer/ Sales Consulting role

  • Highly Technical . You have strong technical skills across various technologies & impeccable business acumen. Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM system. Understanding of SQL or MDX.

  • Excellent Communication. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.

  • Problem Solver. You love tackling the most difficult of challenges and know how to get to the best solution.

  • A True Team Player. You’re the best at what you do and you know how to work with your colleagues to get their best.
