Manager Production(1,0 fte)
Goal of the position
Leading and improving the WP/SD or DB/CL departments and technology, following the company and legal standards such that the manufacturing processes are executed following the stated planning, financials and guidelines, procedures and methods.
Key result areas
Safety and Quality
Provides visible leadership and is a role model to improve employee safety and EHS- and GMP practice and compliance.
Takes appropriate actions when non-conformities of materials, half fabricates, end products or production processes are signaled.
Ensures and monitors the implementation and compliance of safety and quality policies, so that product quality is assured and personal injuries and environmental damage is prevented.
Reliability & Cost
Manages and improves the 24/7 production processes and fosters customer service by delivering a high quality and reliable end product and assuring organizational capacity, cost efficiency, and compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Realizes, reviews and communicates the Operations Business objectives and strategy consistent with the overall business plans.
Implements and delivers the monthly production plan of NSC, as agreed by production and planning in volume, against the quality cost and safety standards set while managing resources in personnel and machinery.
Develops & manages the operations budget with regard to production standards, results and improvement plans. Aligns required capital investments with the Engineering organization to deliver improvements in Safety, Quality, Reliability and Cost.
Leads change by envisioning the future, planning change, and managing transitions to continuously adapt to a dynamic business environment.
Brings best practices to the company by aligning with stakeholders for understanding the implementation global standards and ideas for improvement from inside and outside the organization.
Sets and accomplishes innovation priorities, goals and objectives with a high focus on continuous improvement and seeks ideas and alternatives that create value.
Selects, develops and motivates individuals with the talent necessary to achieve competitive superiority in the European region and to ensure ongoing succession for key positions.
Builds a high performing team with capabilities needed to execute the strategic business plans and provides input into technical career development and leveraging engineering talent across the regional team.
Coordinates, coaches and motivates the team, plans and secures the personnel capacity to reach team goals.
Executes Human Resource management of the team by using company instruments structurally, such as for absenteeism, acquisition, development and appraisals.
Enhances and secures the quality of the team’s output and structurally leads and participates in meetings with the team and other managers.
Analyses reached goals in relation to the set goals and the overall functioning of the team and reports this to the higher management.
Sets organizational goals, secures these and takes corrective actions if needed.
Ensures the implementation of and working following stated guidelines, standards and methods.
Profile and Competencies
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or technological direction.
At least 5 years of experience in managing a multidisciplinary team in an operations environment, preferably experience with infant formula.
Good communication skills, verbally and written, in English and Dutch.
Strong leadership skills with confidence in communications on all levels within a multinational matrix organization.
Extensive knowledge of process equipment and packaging equipment.
Knowledge of change processes and continuous improvement tools like TPM, Lean or Six Sigma.
Knowledge of working with high quality and food safety standards and financial planning and budgeting.
