Description

The Process Expert is responsible for a reliable and continuous improvement of the production processes in SSE NL by initiating, preparing and proposing value-added improvement projects, while ensuring the safety and food-safety in the affected production areas.

Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory

  • Responsible for correct implementation of process related corrective actions resulting from internal and/or external food safety audits.

  • Responsible for making food safety impact studies from operational changes and advice the plant operations management on the conclusions (MOC)

Environment, Health & Safety

  • Responsible for follow up of process related corrective actions resulting from internal and/or external safety or environmental audits.

  • Responsible for making environmental and/or safety impact studies from operational changes and advice the plant operations management on the conclusions (MOC)

Reliability

  • Support the development, implementation and auditing of departmental reliability programs by providing the necessary process related inputs.

  • Responsible for the follow up on process related improvement actions and initiatives resulting from audits.

Cost Management

  • In local initiated development and/or improvement projects (base-capex) responsible for achieving the optimum yield, capacity, chemical utilization and energy efficiency.

  • On a day-to-day basis responsible for ensuring the optimum yield, capacity, chemicals utilization and energy efficiency in the production process by advicing and training the operations department

Responsible for the minimization of waste streams from the production processes.

Continuous improvement

  • Responsible for identifying, removing non-value added activities.

  • Responsible for initiating and implementing value adding activities by preparing and proposing process improvement projects.

  • Supporting Operations in failure prevention by analysing process trends and providing corrective advise.

People development

  • Responsible for coaching and development of junior process experts using PMP as a tool.

  • Supporting/advising HR on succession planning and training programs.

Qualifications

  • Food, Process or Chemical engineering education at a Bachelors level

Experience

  • 3 years experience as a process or process development engineer in the food industry

  • Is familiar with RCA processes and process optimization tools

  • Has some experience in the preparation of process engineering documentation like mass and energy balances, P&ID’s, functional descriptions and so on.

  • Skills (applied knowledge and technical skills directly related to this position)

  • Must have basic technical knowledge

  • Have basic knowledge of solids/liquids handling, separation, evaporation & drying processes

  • Have basic knowledge on Energy and Water systems

  • Have basic knowledge of project management

  • Must have good communication skills

  • Must be able to work both independent as well as in a team

  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Education, Experience,

  • Food, Process or Chemical engineering education at a master level еxperience

  • 5 years experience as a process or process development engineer in the food industry

  • Have proven experience with RCA processes and process optimization tools

  • Proven participation in at least 2-3 build projects

  • Working experience in the preparation of process engineering documentation like mass and energy balances, P&ID’s, functional descriptions and so on. Skills (applied knowledge and technical skills directly related to this position)

  • Must have broad technical knowledge

  • Have advanced knowledge of solids/liquids handling, separation, evaporation & drying processes

  • Have advanced knowledge on Energy and Water systems

  • Have advanced knowledge of project management

  • Must have good communication skills

  • Must be able to work both independent as well as in a team

  • Fluent in Dutch, English, German and French
