Sandvik is a multinational OEM with headquarters in Stockholm. Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology (SMRT) is one of three Business Areas that sit within the Sandvik Group and is headquartered in Amsterdam. The SMRT Business Area supplies goods and services to major mining houses and construction companies globally. The Crushing and Screening Product Area sits within the SMRT Business Area, and houses the Crushing and Screening Plants Solutions Business Unit. The Plants Solutions Business Unit based in Svedala, Sweden, and supplies a range of plant solutions to customers in both the mining and construction industries globally. The Business Unit also has a sister office at Porte de Clichy, in Paris, France.

Job Summary

In the role, the Legal Counsel will provide direction and advice to the Key Stakeholders in the Business Unit and Sales Areas. The Key Stakeholders sit across the complete value chain, and a key objective for the Legal Counsel, will be to ensure the Key Stakeholders capture / avoid diluting value from their own respective parts of the value chain.

The Legal Counsel will, in particular, focus on efficiently, professionally and proactively:Providing direction to the Sales team, BA SMRT Commercial team, and BA SMRT Legal Team on key commercial matters and business risk in connection with tenders and quotations and providing expert drafting (where required) being a point of escalation for negotiating and winning sales contracts.

Providing direction to the project management team on managing performance obligations under Sales contracts, proactively identifying, advising on and managing legal risks and opportunities

Supporting and driving governance in the business; providing direction to the Sourcing team on key requirements from sales contracts that need to be flown upstream to suppliers, and providing guidance to the Sourcing team on producing accurate and detailed tender packages.

Acting as point of escalation for negotiating and resolving disputes under sales contracts and priding yourself in good assistance to all relevant teams.

Your profile

You have the ability to familiarize oneself with the relevant laws, regulations and codes applicable to the Company Experience in contract law, in particular the RFP / tender process. A minimum of 8 years' post admission experience in a combination of private practice top tier firms and in-house at a MNC company and a minimum of 5 years' industry experience (or equivalent).

You are able to draft/review relatively complex contracts, have a good commercial sense with excellent analysis and judgment skills, excellent team skills (specifically facilitation, diplomacy, integration and co-ordination), a high level interpersonal skills to relate effectively to employees and stakeholders.

You are also able to manage cross-organization interaction (i.e. manage internal stakeholder team/client relationships) and manage in a high pressure environment.

If you have previous in-house Legal experience in the construction or mining/resources industries that would be well regarded.

You possess a proactive personality with strong integrity and Proficient in both written and fluent spoken English. All other languages is an advantage
