Dow Chemical Piping Engineer in Zeeland, Netherlands
The Dow Chemical Company has an opening for a Piping Engineer (m/f) . The position is located at the Terneuzen site in The Netherlands.
The Piping Engineer is reporting to the Operations Leader Design Engineering who is also responsible for E&I, Civil and PCE/Mechanical engineering. There is functional reporting line to the Piping Discipline Coordinator. All together there are approximately 30 professionals working in the Piping team (including contractors).
Lead and execute piping basic designs and detail engineering for multiple small and intermediate site projects, and / or contribute to larger projects in front-end loading and detail design;
Verify and complete project scope for your specific area of expertise;
Lead and check designers;
Coordinate (Plan and follow up) with piping stress engineers and piping material engineers (piping calculations and equipment selection) in your area;
Follow up of technical interfaces with the other design disciplines like E&I, civil, pressure vessels and mechanical;
Communicate progress of your projects with the project engineer (also with production, construction and contractors);
Prepare scopes for external Engineering Companies or Remote DOW Engineering Centre (work share);
Site interface for work shared design and engineering activities;
Design according to Dow, national and international codes and regulations;
Ensure that environmental, safety and loss prevention principles are used;
Support process engineering and maintenance activities
Master Degree in Engineering (for instance Mechanical engineering), additional piping education is an advantage;
Preferably min. 5 years experience in piping (design) engineering and revamp projects;
Fluent in English;
Working knowledge of 3D Cad User is prevailing;
Can act as a piping lead in site executed projects;
Is able to lead (junior) designers and act as focal point for external engineering companies;
Has good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills;
Knowledge of national and international regulations and codes;
Not afraid of height.
