Job Description / Information
The Senior Financial Accountant in the Accounting to Report (A2R) team is a key person in the European Finance Shared Service Centre (EFSSC). In addition to A2R activities, the EFSSC is servicing Purchase to Pay, Master Data, Intercompany, Internal Controls and VAT services with in total about 140 FTEs. The EFSSC is the preferred business partner to support Stryker’s mission and vision for the European business. This will require Finance to focus on the basics of providing financial services and support, deliver value added finance service and support to Stryker Europe. It is Finance’s responsibility to assist the business in taking unnecessary costs out of its healthcare delivery system, achieve better economies of scale in the utilization of resources and leverage activities across functions and geographies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Finance will be a best in class function, comprised of ethical, talented and engaged people, with efficient processes and effective controls that support our functions and customers.
The role is reporting to the Manager A2R in the EFSSC.
In the role of Senior Financial Accountant you are a senior member of the Accounting to Reporting Team and you will perform advanced level of accounting and reporting responsibilities with primary focus on full accounting ownership and delivering a quality service to our (internal) customers. Your main accountabilities will be:
Leading the Accounting and Reporting for your entity
Accurate and Complete Financial Accounting and Reporting, including all Financial Close activities
Being an active member of the A2R Team
Actively support the Shared Service vision in Stryker
A Continuous Improvement mindset
Implement and maintain an effective system of Internal Controls, including Internal/External audit support
Full Compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, Stryker policies and procedures and any applicable laws and regulations

Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in a (Senior) Accounting or audit role in a multinational (preferably US based) or an Auditing company (one of the big four). Any Shared Service experience is preferred
Professional certification in accounting (CPA or equivalent) or actively studying for it
Fluent in English
Familiar with USGAAP, Sarbanes Oxley Act
Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive
High level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility
Accustomed to working under pressure and with deadlines
