We are the eBay Classifieds Global Mobile team, currently shipping category-winning Android and iOS apps to seven different countries with millions of active users. Provide strong guidance and directly contribute with design, architecture, implementation and maintenance of our Android apps.
Interact directly with local and remote mobile client and server-side engineers, Product Management, Design and QA as part of a cohesive team.
Participate in feature design, implementation and testing to ensure a high-quality product.
Prototype and promote innovative mobile experiences that push the eBay Classifieds mobile platform capabilities.
Pro-actively participate in the definition of and make direct contributions to a scalable mobile architectural.
Inspire others with your passion for mobile development.
Highly developed craftsmanship with expert understanding of object oriented programming and clean code.
Expert experience with Android development using both Kotlin and Java. You must be able to lead and demonstrate high feature velocity without accumulating technical debt.
Demonstrated experience with Android development, Material Design, Android best practices. Please provide links to published apps.
Strong experience leading a team to higher performance. You have experience mentoring and coaching junior developers.
Strong understanding of server-side development & API design. You will participate in the design of back-end API’s and closely collaborate with back-end teams.
Flexible problem solving ability. You must operate as a consultant and find pragmatic solutions in a dynamic environment every day with a strong product focus.
Excellent interpersonal skills. You must be comfortable in small and large groups and interacting with senior executives.
Experience working with a distributed team.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge.
5+ years experience in shipping Android applications.
Proven track record of improving mobile products through elegant user experience.
Excellent communication skills.
The Global Mobile Engineering team is distributed throughout the world, with the larger part of the team in Amsterdam, Shanghai and Portland. This job is for a critical member of the team in Amsterdam, maintaining strong communication with both the local team and the rest of the team throughout the world.
