About The Opportunity

In this role you are responsible for the results of one of the production units of our site in Papendrecht. You supervise a team of +/- 6 team leaders and you lead a multidisciplinary team (midfield including Quality lead, Technical Lead and Logistical Lead) operationally. We are looking for a people-oriented manager who is open to change and has an eye for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Implementing the Safety, Health and Environment Operations policy within the unit.

  • Translating strategic policy together with the multidisciplinary team in annual plans, people, budgets and investments as well as controlling and monitoring the budget within the unit.

  • Achieving the unit results on safety, quality, delivery reliability, costs and employee morality.

  • Delivering input to the strategic roadmap (X-matrix) for the unit.

  • Stimulating and supervising ‘operational excellence’ within the multidisciplinary teams on midfield level and the different multidisciplinary teams on job floor level.

  • Coordinating analyses and corrective measurements concerning problems with potential impact on our clients or the business case, together with program management.

  • Stimulating and leading continuous improvement and change.

  • Organizing and leading frequent meetings with your direct reports in order to coach them, to solve problems and to monitor progress.

Your skills and competences are:

To succeed in this role, you have finished a Bachelor/Master education, preferably related to engineering (e.g. mechanical engineering, aerospace or TPM). Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years work experience in a managerial position and proven experience in improving processes within an operations environment. Other important characteristics are:

  • Excellent knowledge of production processes and logistics, continuous improvement (e.g. Lean, 6 Sigma) and aerospace legislation.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken.

  • You have a customer-orientated attitude and can communicate effectively in different organizational levels.

  • You are decisive and result orientated (QLTC) and are able to solve complex issues.

  • You are a coach for your team and you can adapt to all different situations in order to achieve results.
