ASML Business Managed Application Engineer in Veldhoven, Netherlands
The sector Customer Support (CS) is responsible for the maintenance of ASML systems on customer locations and supporting the customer in the use of these systems in their production processes. These systems are very expensive and therefore the bottleneck in the customer fab, meaning that there is a continuous drive to improve the CS performance in terms of quality and efficiency.
Efficiency is supported by tools / automation that are delivered by our Development or our IT organization. However, this does not cover the full need of CS, resulting in own, or mostly locally developed applications. CS has decided that a number of these applications will need to be standardized throughout the world wide organization (60+ offices in the world). These standardized applications are called Business Managed Applications (BMAs). Once these applications are rolled out it is essential that proper support is arranged, meaning there has to be capacity in place to sustain and further improve the application.
The BMA Engineer plays a crucial role by specifying and prototyping new or enhanced functionality for the BMAs. Through short communication lines with key users in the field, the intent is to solve issues and fill-in new opportunities through fast learning cycles (agile development). The BMA Engineer will be responsible for the sustaining of the BMA until the sustaining is transferred to a supplier.
A job as BMA Coordinator within the ASML Customer Support department consists of a diversity of tasks and responsibilities with the main focus on managing the updates and maintenance for a (growing) number of BMAs.
